 I am a qualified medical practitioner, completing  my degree at  Sheffield University in 1996.
I returned to my Manchester roots to train in General Practice and worked as a partner for four years.
Having been introduced to yoga in my teenage years, I looked into deepening my understanding of the practice.
Training with the British Wheel of Yoga, I received my BWY Teaching Diploma in 2006.
Starting my own family during this time, brought about a natural interest in Yoga for Pregnancy and in 2010 I did my Pregnancy Yoga Teacher Training with the well respected  Uma Dinsmore-Tuli  ( www.sitaram.org
I am very thankful for  Umas teachings which have a wonderfully holistic approach to teaching yoga for pregnancy.
The antenatal classes aim to encourage a greater awareness of  the physical and emotional needs of the body. Providing simple and practical techniques to nourish and support you through all the stages of pregnancy, childbirth and beyond.
I have also been fortunate to gain experience and extend my own practice from two local yoga teachers:

They generously pass on their knowledge of Svastha yoga, which is a gift I am very grateful for.
Being medically trained I have always been interested in the therapeutic role of yoga  and try to practice and teach with that in mind.  
 Svastha Yoga adapts the practice to suit the needs of the individual body at any given time. Using the conscious expansion of the breath to physically support the practice and bring balance to the mind.
